A Memory of Guildford.

My nan and mum used to work in the Guildford Dolls Hospital which would have been on the right just beyond the white building.
As the name suggests they would make your doll better if she was ill and also sold many other toys - one of my favourite memories

I used to work for Mr Lock in his fabric shop which was opposite GDH in the mid 1960s. It was my Saturday job and I loved it. Tiny shop but absolutely crammed full of wonderful fabrics. I earned 10/- a day.

I lived in Guildford when I was little and remember GDH well.
I also remember the shop probably where Maxwell's is in the photo and the
unfeasably large jeans that hung over the doorway; A leg hung down each side
of the door..
