Indoor Swiiming Pool

A Memory of Guildford.

Can anyone please job my memory where the old indoor Swimming Pool was? It was very small and old and crammed but I remember it being off down a narrow lane somewhere at the bottom of the High Street or was it in Castle Street? This would be circa 1960 -1965 please?

The old baths were in Castle Street, just below Guildford castle. I attended a primay school in Godalming and we used to go over in a coach to swim there most weeks. I can remember the changing cubicles down each side of the pool, the incredible noise and the smell of chlorine!

Hi David
Thank you so much for prompting my memory. Somehow I had those baths further away than I had thought. I used to live in Pewley Hill and bathed there from time to time with friends. and yes they were noisy, cramped and stunk of chlorine!
