More about this scene

The Cloth Mills 1907 A mile west of Wellington, Westford was a mill village with large cloth mills along the River Tone. Here the photographer looks towards a range of 19th-century industrial buildings, all of which survive, although not now in mill use. The one on the right is now a coal merchants, while the whitewashed one has lost the cupola whose bell summoned the mill hands to their work.
