On the right can be seen the public house the Ham Tap, and also Mr Elson's greengrocer shop. Outside is his delivery bicycle. This village name has caused some amusement locally: a road sign indicates the distance first to Ham, then underneath to Sandwich. Naturally, at first sight the sign just reads Ham Sandwich!
