More about this scene
A policeman directs the traffic. On the right are the Royal Baths, which cost nearly £100,000 to build; even the Kursaal, which opened in 1903, cost over £70,000. The money lavished on providing Harrogate with the best spa facilities in the country ensured that the town remained the most fashionable of all the spas for fifty years.
