Harrogate, Valley Gardens, Tea House 1911

More about this scene
Visitors relax in the splendour of Valley Gardens, and tea is served from the Sun Pavilion. The spa trade declined in the 1920s - although more visitors came, they spent less money. The fashion for health spas was on the wane. But before the Great War, times were still genteel, and enjoyment came from simple pleasures.
