I was born in worksop but my early life was spent in harworth, my name is Adrian Cutts (Godley originally). my father and the rest of his large family were from the Tickhill and Harworth areas. my dad unfortunately passed when i was 5 in 1971 during his employ at the glass bulbs factory (not at work or work related), His name was John Wilfred (wilf) Godley. the few people i can remember from my dads ...see more
Firstly, my grandad John (Jacky) Gibson was very much a regular at the Blacksmiths and my nanna, Mary Ann, worked as a tea lady at the glass bulbs and my mom worked on Durdy's farm.. My mom met my dad at the Blacksmiths..Wish I could wind the clock back to the good old day's.....
Has anyone old photos of Harworth from 1945 (ish). My mother was brought up there and lived in a house called Weybourne, she was married from the church in April 1945. Any photos of the house would be good, and is it still there? My mother was Sheila Peck and her uncle had a chemist shop in Bircotes.
My cousin has recently been doing some family tree and has discovered that our family with the name Haslehurst farmed there in the early to mid 1800's at least. I was wondering if there are still any people living in Harworth with the name Haslehurst and if so could let me know.
