Haslemere Laundry, Wey Hill

A Memory of Haslemere.

I remember working in the laundry in wey hill for many years when I left my home town of Birmingham, I have some great memories of my days there, starting in the wash room and getting to know everyone there. My Nan was the first of a number of my family to work there. I still remember my old boss Mr Bob Young who became a great friend of mine and we spent many good times in the Red Lion pub having a few drinks and playing darts. I remember the early morning knocks on my door in St Christophers Road from the police when the alarm was going of for one thing or another, and the Christmas staff parties we used to have in the canteen and our gift from Bob of a large turkey and a big joint of meat. I could go on for ages but I will stop with my memories of my years in my new hometown of Haslemere.
