More about this scene
Here we have a tale of two breweries: the Devenish Brewery (a Cornish concern despite its name) fell victim to recession in the 1980s, while the St Austell Brewery flourishes still, long after its founding by Walter Hicks. Its most potent brew is Hicks Special Draught, also known by its nickname of High Speed Death.
