Helvellyn, Striding Edge 1912

More about this scene
This is one of the classic mountain views in the Lake District, with the glaciated knife-edge of Striding Edge leading off eastwards towards High Spying How. Helvellyn, with its summit 3,118 feet above sea level, is one of the most popular mountains in the Lake District. It is interesting to note that this view shows the footpath along the edge, which was obviously well-trodden even then.
