Henbury, St Thomas' Church 1897

More about this scene
So many of our churches around the country were rebuilt during Victorian times, and Henbury's church is no exception. St Thomas's dates from the 1840s, and was designed by Richard Lane. In view of the relatively young age of the church when the photograph was taken, it is surprising to see so much ivy climbing up the walls. This has now been removed.
