Hi I was in Margaret Bevin in 1954 I hated everything about it I was only there about a week and me and another girl I can’t remember her name hide in the garden when the girls went to wash there hands for dinner and we ran away has we we’re running up station road there was a black dog chasing us but we carried on we got on the tram to Woodside we had no money we got under the seat we done the same on the boat and the tram in Liverpool I can’t even remember
The girls name that was with me I wish I did
my name was mary Silcock ( it was the
worse time of my life I hated every minute of
it a girl put a pillow over my head and tried to
smother me ( and if you spoke after a certain
time you had to stand in the hall under the
clock it was the worst time of my life ( when I
got home a police man came to see was I
safe I locked my self in he bedroom and
wouldn’t come out ( I think we should have
been compensated for the time we were
there
Mary Silcock
