College Road
A Memory of Hextable.
I lived with my grandparents for a few years in the 40's at 2 College Road, Hextable. My grandma was a teacher at Crockenhill School, Mrs Avery and grandad worked at the nursery. I think the neighbours were called Twelvetrees.
Unfortunately my mother was very ill in the Brompton Hospital, London and actually came home to Hextable and passed away there. She is buried at St Pauls, Old Swanley. I remember going to Sunday School every week in Hextable and have fond memories of the village. I actually called into the bakery about 15 years ago but no-one remembered the family and the village looked very different of course.
