Created in 1790, this successful canal was built to ship Bedworth coal to the town of Coventry. At Hopwas, just beyond Tamworth, the canal threads its way through attractive wooded country.

I think that the photograph was taken in 1965 as the photo shows me and my brother David Jones fishing from the bottom of the garden of 4 Nursery Lane. I was born in 1955 in Tamworth and we moved to Hopwas in April of 1961 when I was just 8 years old and my brother 5 years old. I think that I look about 12 in the photo?
