More about this scene
Horbury, three miles south-west of Wakefield, was once one of the busiest railway junctions in the country; hence, perhaps, the absence of any form of traffic in the High Street in this photograph. A three-wheeler delivery van waits for the latest edition outside the offices of the 'Horbury Observer' newspaper on the left.
