This building is still there in Church Road, not far from where John Greenfield lived in the nineteenth century with his wife Mary and daughter Sarah and sons James & John. A 1834 will of Yeoman John Greenfield or Grinfield, who died in 1834 at Horne in surrey mentions his grandson John, who in 1834 was under 21. Could this be John Greenfield of Hayes Kent's son John, who would have been about 20 and without a father. My Great-Great-Great-Grandmother Amelia Creasey (nee Stone) was born in this little hamlet around 1788 yet somehow she was married in Southwark in 1813 to my Great-Great-Great-Grandad Edward Creasey who was a local man from East Grinstead. I am very interested in my family history and have been greatly helped by research published by the Felbridge & District History Group who discovered that my Creasey family farmed at Gibbshaven Farm. It is a beautiful part of the country.
