More about this scene
Yet another town that has benefited from a by-pass, and is now rediscovering itself without constant through traffic. The Causeway always was a tranquil haven amid the chaos, but imaginative pedestrianisation and traffic calming schemes have made Horsham a delight again, particularly around Carfax. The view is remarkably similar now, a century later, as the limes had to be replanted in 1940. Cut off from the bustling town centre by the old town hall, this lane feels more like a village street.
