Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

Please Note: Our offices and factory are now closed until Monday 5th January when we will be pleased to deal with any queries that have arisen during the holiday period.

Hounslow

A Memory of Hounslow.

Yes I lived in Hounslow from 1948 - 1964
Loved living there I lived in Cromwell Road went to Grove Road Infants School then there Junior School then Bulstrode Secondary Modern

There was a place called The Butchers Institute for retired Butchers which had beautiful gardens we used to walk pass as we went to the town.

I also remember going with my Mum to ABC cafe on a Saturday morning had fresh crusty roll with butter and hot drink loved it.

We use to go to Woolworth where Mum bought broken biscuits

Also Edmunds was the departmental store and yes they did have Father Christmas but I don't think he arrived until December not like now October lol

The last year at Bulstode we had to make Tapestry hassocks for the new church Holy Trinity that was 1963.
Do not live in Hounslow now but had great memory's of living there.

Used to belong to a youth club at Heston can't remember the name though.

I went to grove rs and bulstrode schools and lived in Albion rd I was born in June 1946 so we may have known one another. I moved to Richmond when I was 19 and still live in teddington but miss how Hounslow used to be. My close friends were Ernie Herschel and Barry alderman. Also Philip Morris who lived in Cromwell rd right on the corner of Victoria avenue. Best wishes Warren stutely

This memory certainly got me recalling my childhood. I lived in Staines Road almost opposite the Butchers Institute from 1946-48. I went to Grove Road school before passing the eleven plus and going to Isleworth County School. I had a friend whose mother had a tiny shop and sold pet food. I remember Saturday morning cinema at the Alcazar. One morning someone bought a crate of oranges and emptied it in front of the children queueing for the film wow you should have seen the rush. Remember this was just after the war had ended. Lots more memories of Hounslow but that’s enough for now
