More about this scene
The pretty estate village of Hovingham in the Vale of Pickering is famous for Hovingham Hall, built about 1760 by Thomas Worsley, Surveyor General to William III. Here we see a pleasing mixture of pantile-roofed cottages at Brookside, in the centre of the village.
