I Went To Gaythorne Primary School

A Memory of Hulme.

I went to Gaythorne Primary School until 1963. The headmaster was Mr. Jacks and the teacher of the last year was Mr. Beasley. The teacher in the aged 5's class was Miss Atkinson. I loved Gaythorne Primary. I wonder if anybody else has fond memories of this school in Hulme.

I went to Gaythorn until July 65. Remember Mrs Atkinson, Miss Lilley, Miss Stansfield & Mr Jacks.
Hello Jane, I remember Miss Atkinson, we used to call her Ackerbombs in our childish banter, she was very strict and I can see her face now as I type. Does anyone remember Miss Flint, the music teacher. She used to slam the keyboard cover down when we didn't make a perfect "O" shape of our mouths when we were singing in the choir and if someone sang out of tune she used to throw the board duster at them....... times remembered.
