More about this scene
The view shows the Rose and Crown public house and, on the right, the row of fine mansard roofed terraced houses. Each of the doorways has its own fine web fanlight. It was close to here that Charles Windover had his coachworks, where he built car bodies for Rolls-Royce, amongst others. Amongst their most successful bodies was the Marlborough limousine constructed on the Renault chassis. The works moved to London in the early 1930s.
