Hutton Cranswick, The Village c.1960

More about this scene
This is something of a misnomer, as in reality there is no such village. The fact is that there are two villages, Hutton and Cranswick, which are less than a mile apart. Hutton is the smaller, and stands on a slight hill. This is reflected in its Norse name - 'Hoot' - hill and 'tun' - an enclosure.
