More about this scene

Archbishop Laud was at some time rector of this rather fine church, which forms a pleasant group with the 18th-century vicarage at the southern end of this mining town. Although it is almost entirely of the 14th century, it has few interior features to detain the visitor.

I was born at number 15 Sunnyside Estate Ibstock in one of the prefabs 1956 along with my mum and dad and sister. It’s long gone now but think there are bungalows where the prefabs used to be.
I got married in this church in March 1975
I can remember working at the bake house after school clearing and washing up, and on the occasional Saturday morning, I especially remember putting the jam into the donuts and rolling them in caster sugar Happy Days.
