More about this scene
The outer quay has been extensively redeveloped, but St Nicholas's chapel atop Lantern Hill is still there. The building to the rear of the quay was - and is - the lifeboat station. Note the paddle steamer at the quay. These were a feature of the Bristol Channel in Victorian times, and a preserved one still visits occasionally today.
