More about this scene
Without doubt the best known building in Ipswich, the Ancient House (or Sparrowe's House) with its incredible plasterwork. It was around 1670 that Robert Sparrowe remodelled the building, with the pargetting reflecting his interest in the known world at that time - the four continents of Europe, Africa, Asia and America.
