More about this scene
Iwerne (pronounced Youen) Minster stands on the road to Blandford, and boasts this fine peace -rather than war - memorial. Iwerne lost its share of residents during the carnage of the First World War, and this memorial was erected in their honour. There is a carved figure of a soldier with reversed arms, and two nurses are remembered amongst the names on the plinth.
