More about this scene

The circuitous narrow road which leads up from the Swaledale village of Keld is being negotiated by an early motorcar. In the background behind the car we can see the River Swale, here in its higher and wilder reaches. The tiny and isolated village of Keld stands high up in Swaledale (1100ft), surrounded by beautiful walking country; it is a favourite with lovers of the wild northern dales. All around are waterfalls like Kisdon Force and Stonesdale Beck Falls.
