Childhood Memories Kessingland Late 80’s 90’s

A Memory of Kessingland.

So as a young child I would always go on holidays with my Nan and Grandad.
We started going to Kessingland we had a small caravan {touring caravan} so I was very excited to go to a new place. I lived {still do} in East London so it's very built up, so going to a place that had a park, swimming pool, arcade ,horses so near me was amazing. So I remember going and setting the caravan up then we got fish and chips. We finished that off then Nan said "let’s get washed and changed for the clubhouse". That was it - I have never got ready so fast. So we go to the clubhouse and they had a kids club while the adults played bingo. I was a little nervous but Grandad took me in there got me settled and gave me some money for the tuck shop. So we sat and played games they played music and so so much more it was a child’s dream come true. So as the evening goes on we’re going into the main bit we’re we all go on the dance floor and do all party songs so I get nan to join me I loved dancing al the entertainment team showed us the actions to the songs we had dinner there it was great as the night went on this was the best bit of the night the entertainment team done a show. So that was my first night
Then we had loads of things in the daytime to do I went swimming most days (I learnt to swim here) days out kids club in the day if I wanted to join in with fancy dress ,crafts sports day,I went horse riding down the dunes to the beach I made friends and I’m still friends now with one of the girls. So we had a week here and when we left Grandad asked if I would like to go again for a holiday - well you didn’t have to ask me twice. So we went back a few months later and they had a themed night - country and I got a cowgirl hat I loved and I met my friend again. This time they had films for us to watch and it was really Halloween - we got dressed up for that (my Nan and grandad bless them). They had for the evening entertainment a well known witch 🧙 grotbags (kids to 80s) - she was great - at Kessingland they always had great entertainment for all ages. This time Nan won a prize on bingo for a holiday next year, so from that next holiday, my grandparents decided to put our caravan there full time so we would go weekends, holidays, whenever we could. I got to take a friend from home sometimes. This place made my childhood great with so many great memories .I’m thinking of maybe booking a holiday for the memories and maybe meet up with my friend as she doesn’t live too far from there. My grandparents will never know what they done for me with that 1st holiday. My son has been lucky to have little holidays with them too .
Caravan holidays are the best
