I to have happy memories. It was a convalescent home when I was there in 1952/54. Lots of kids with Asthma. Ran by Matron and Sir I think the last name was Elvidge but not sure. They had three children, Monica who was at boarding school, Elizabeth and Hugh who lived with us and we went to the local school. I saw the Queens coronation sitting in Matrons sitting room on the floor. My first TV program. Would love to know what happened to the folks there.
I lived at Moel Lys Childrens Home in the 1960's. The people who cared for us were a couple called Mr and Mrs Jones, who had two daughters Jenny and Susie. I spent two very happy years there, is there anyone reading this that might remember me (Pam Moden) or who lived there and would like to share some of their memories? Would love to hear from you.
My memories of Kirby Muxloe date back to 1949, when I was a bridesmaid at my father’s cousin Anne’s wedding at St Bartholomew’s Church. However it is the castle that I remember most, since we had to drive past it to visit her parents, my Great Aunt Nell and Great Uncle Stan in Desford Lane.
