I was at the school of the holy child Laleham 1940 to 1945 I was only 4 when I went there it was wartime and we were kept safe there.we slept in the crypt during air raids and played ghosts in the dark. The nuns were very caring and we went on picnics
.I loved the young novice who used to brush my hair and was upset as hers was to be cut off. We made fairy houses in the roots of the cedar tree and left notes for the fairies and the nuns left little packets of sweets in exchange. We had points for behaviour.. Deducted for bad behaviour and you could use your points at the end of term to buy the little things the nuns made.I still have my reading prize..The Land of Far Beyond. Also a brochure of the school. Happy days climbing the tree and ripping my clothes..poor mother!
