Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

A prominent Norman castle mound, the remains of the town walls, including Prince Rupert's Gateway, the castle hall and St Mary de Castro church form the finest historic enclave in the city. The Gateway, seen here from the Newarkes, was ruined around 1832, having survived the siege of the town by Prince Rupert and King Charles I in 1645. The group is of considerable beauty, and no visitor should fail to perambulate and absorb the whole of this amazingly compact historic group of buildings and earthworks.

Appleton's Farm, Barkby (Thorpe?) Lane, Leicester
Well, fancy that, that's awakened some memory cells! Until the age of 11 years I was raised in a poorer housing area of Belgrave, Leicester, which was all the housing that was available after the War in 1945. Bradgate Cottages Abbey Gate
My parents lived at 3 Bradgate cottages, my brother would have gone to Slater street school mid to late 50's. My mum worked at the factory on the corner which is derelict. The garden backed on to the river.

Wyggeston Grammar School For Girls
My memories of Wyggie girls school straddle the years 1951 to 1956. I can still remember being in awe of Miss Pedley until she appeared in th end of year play 1066 and all that. She was a natural actress and had us all in stitches. I would love to hear from anyone who was in the science forms during the same years. Will there be reunion 2020 Janet Carter

Life In The Old Days

I was born in Belgrave, Holden Street in 1947 I. Have great Memories of those Wonderful days growing up their All the kids in our Street played together outside in all weathers, , In School Holidays we played simple games then,Girls swapped beads and played snobs, double ball and skipping too verses we made up. Genealogy & Research Images

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
