More about this scene

The miniature railway at Cofton Wood was nearly as popular as the tea room, though one cannot help wondering if the adults in this picture are not just the teeniest bit embarrassed. Another highlight for children used to be the travelling fair which visited the Lickeys on bank holidays, occupying a site on the corner of Lickey Road and Leach Green Lane.

Convalescent Home In Belbroughton
In the 1901 census my great-grand mother was living at this place and was working at Stoke Priory as a domestic. I cannot find any information on this building, can anyone help?

The Big Climb
During the 1950s many children from Birmingham and surrounding areas suffered with TB and chest complaints.  I can remember the doctor prescribed that I should have sun ray treatment twice a week and climb the Lickey Steps once a week.  Climbing these steps was really hard going, coughing and feeling breathless and with legs like jelly, but as the months went by the climb became easier, my health returned.  As a ...see more

However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
