Hornby Boulevard
A Memory of Litherland.
I lived with my Mum and Dad in Hornby Boulevard, then when I was 11 we moved to a new house in Skelmersdale. I remember the Litherland High Street with its department store Sterlers, it had a system to transport money to the accounts office by inserting the cash in a small tube and inserting it into a vacuum tube system. A chain was pulled and the capsule would find its way to the office. Sterlers is long since gone and the Walls sausage factory too. I have been back recently and I don't recognise the place. Lots of fond memories came back.
