Little Chalfont Hot Box Sauna
A Memory of Little Chalfont.
I remember the Hot Box Sauna, around 1970. It was at Nightingale Corner in Cokes Lane. Very very nice presentation. I remember the receptionist had a picture of herself on a Raleigh Chopper bike in the Daily Mirror. One could really relax, it was all so new in those far off days. There was a Vandermolen stereo with discs that you could listen to while drinking fresh lemon juice, after a steam bath. I often used to go on a Thursday afternoon, my skin felt so good afterwards. I never had felt so clean. It seemed very sophisticated to a 22 year old man.
