More about this scene

We see HMS 'Bellisle' riding at anchor like a 'floating metal fortress' in the River Mersey as part of that same Royal Navy visit. With ten guns on board, she was heavier-armed than the 'Hercules', but she could only manage a top speed of eight knots even in good conditions. The fleet arrived in the Mersey on 27 September 1890 and left on 1 October 1890. Vice Admiral Sir Michael C Seymour and Rear Admiral Loftus Jones were in command.

Starfield Street
My mum grew up in Starfield Street, living, I think, above a laundry/wash house. Her surname was Cox and she had brothers, Tommy, Jimmy and Billy. I think the family lived there for 30 plus years until the middle 1960’s

Dad Growing Up In Kensington
My dad was born in Kensington and went to butler street school from late 40s to late 50s. His name is Kenneth jackson or just ken. He always talks of the happy days and all his friends. His mums name was Louise and his dad name was Tony. He had sisters, Margaret, Reeni and another sister though I can’t remember her name. I would love it if anyone remembers my dad as I’ve heard so much over the years ...see more

Berwick Street, Liverpool.
Hello Audrey, I grew up in Starfield Street which was next to Berwick. We lived there from 1951 till ‘66 when I left home for university. I had 2 sisters, Diane and Christine. I used to live in Rolfe Street off back Molyneux Road. The houses there now have the Beatles names.Such good memories Pebbles..Capaldi..Kenny Cinema many more. my Mum used to work in a fruit shop called Hurst's. I have tried to find old pics of Rolfe Street but no luck..so sad. my ex Husband used to live in Thornes road OPP Kenny library. so many memories xx My name used to be Valerie MC Dowall

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
