More about this scene
Lying to seaward of Poltesco, the rocky little beach of Carleon Cove had its own pilchard fleet until the 19th century, when it became the home of the Lizard Serpentine Company. Power for the production of ornaments was provided by the waterwheel in the foreground. The headland in the distance is Black Head.
