My Dads History
A Memory of Llandybie.
My name is Wendy Ambrose (now Chambers). My dad Robert Vaughan Ambrose was born on Myrtle Grove Saron near Llandybie in 1920. He had sisters called, Rachel, Doll, Nancy, May and a brother. His parents were Robert McKell Sunderland Ambrose and his wife was Rachel Ann Roberts (I think).
My dad left Wales in his late teens and joined the army and came to live in Worksop, Notts during the war where he met my mum.
When I was 8 years old, around 1960, me, my mum Emily, my sister Ann and my 2 year old brother lived with my Aunty Rachel at 97 Blaenau Road in Llandybie for 3 months and went to school there. I remember my school was at the bottom of a hill and my older sisters was at the top. I also remember making a friend called Bronwyn Roberts who lived opposite on Blaenau Road.
I also remember many holidays down in LLandybie and seeing all the families.
Just wondering if anyone has any memories of my past family. Thank you.
