More about this scene
The town developed as a Victorian holiday resort, as many did on the North Wales Coast. This parade of shops, housed in a building displaying the influence of the eastern reaches of the British Empire, suggests a steady trade. There was a brief respite for the men unloading the cart, and the Refreshment Rooms enticed customers with its selection of eatables. Charles Fisher offered 'complete House Furnishings' and the fashionable linoleum.
