This is the centre of the village; we are looking north to West Overton County Primary School with its toothed ridge line and bell tower just visible over it. To the right is the thatched Myrtle Cottage. This 17th-century listed sarsen and brick dwell- ing shows the fast- disappearing type of long straw thatch, which was sewed all along the edges like a garment.

My Great Grandfather And Mother Isaacs
In 1939-40 I was evacuated to Lockeridge to live with my great-aunt Mrs Haynes, who I think lived in one of the thatched cottages in the photo of the Dene. She was, I think, housekeeper at the big house in Lockeridge. We lived in the cottage with my great-grandfather and great-grandmother who died in 1940 and 1949 respectively and are burried in St Michael's and All Angels' churchyard in West Overton.

Lockeridge School
Whilst researching my family history I have found several photographs of classes at Lockeridge School 1915. It could be my mother Dorothy Mortimore with standard 11.

However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
