More about this scene

We have now nearly reached the southern end of the street, and have turned round to head back to the church. The building on the right is a substantial medieval house with later additions. Gardiner's Garage next door, now a dress shop, was originally a maltings. Further up, the tall house with a Georgian façade was the doctor's surgery for much of the 19th and 20th centuries. The maltings beyond is one of several antique warehouses in the village.

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

I vaguely remember visiting the corner shop seventy years ago. Not sure if the owners were relatives or just friends of my grandparents. If anyone knows who lived there and operated the shop in the 1940s the information would be appreciated. David, in Napa, California
