Lulworth Cove, The Village 1894

More about this scene
This photograph of Lulworth village shows how Dorset cottages looked when they were the workaday homes of local labourers and fishermen. The thatch is well-maintained and looks as though it might have been recently replaced, but the walls are scarred and eroded from poor weather and exposure to the sea winds.
