This cottage, probably 16th- or 17th-century, is typical of those found on the eastern side of Dartmoor. Its walls are hidden beneath some rather tatty rendering, but are almost certainly made of granite, which can be seen in the arch below the gable, and in the horse trough in which the little boy is standing.
