More about this scene
Luton's dependence on a good supply of fully trained technicians and tradesmen meant that the old Technical School was transferred from Park Square (now the site of Luton University) to this site on the outskirts of the town. Pupils were accepted here from the age of thirteen, by examination, and were given a vocational education to prepare them for apprenticeships with many of the town's engineering companies.
