Lydiate Townswomens Guild In Lydiate Community Centre

A Memory of Lydiate.

Our Lydiate TG Guild was active from the 50's to 2012, when the membership dropped and it was embarrassing to see the numbers attending for speakers and we had to close. We had some very happy memories of our time in this Guild with other ladies in the area. We had really interesting speakers, evenings when we made our own fun, plays, musical evenings, choirs, outings amongst other things, still got the archives and photos as I was secretary and had the box left with me to store !! So if anyone remembers us or was a part of the membership do write your own memories and perhaps we can have a cuppa somewhere to reminisce.
I now belong to Aughton Eve Guild, which meets the second and fourth Tuesdays each month, we are moving from the school we currently meet in after March 24th and will be meeting in the WI hut in Town Green Lane in Aughton, L39 6SF from April 28th as Easter is in between. So if you fancy joining us , as there are no other Guilds left now in the area, then come to us in Aughton, we are meeting in school tonight , as it is our AGM, it is in St Michaels Primary school , then our last speaker in that venue is on March 24th. about Liverpool and its humour
Ok we are mostly of an age!! But our minds are still young so our speakers are always interesting, so do come and join us, love to see you.
Sheila McGuinness Aughton Eve Townswomen secretary.
