Re Thomas Darge's Nursery

A Memory of Maidstone.

I remember Darge's nursery very well because I was born at in 16 Tonbridge Road in 1947. There was also Corbin's builders merchants a little further down if I remember correctly. I believe Jimmy Corbin who wrote about his years as a Spitfire pilot in the 2nd world war and later became a well respected teacher at the Technical School - as it was known then, - was a member of the same family. He died early in 2013. I attended Buckland House Primary school from 1953 until 1958 when I moved on to the Tech. School.
