Lovely Manmoel

A Memory of Manmoel.

I was born in 1955 and lived in Cwm, the village at the bottom of the mountain with Manmoel on top of it. We actually lived in Canning Street, which was about a mile from The Rhiw (pronounced Ru), which is what we called it. It was a long hilly road that took us to the top of the mountain (not sure how long the road was, but it was quite a climb). We then had a further walk to Manmoel Village where the park was, which, to us, was the main attaction, and then when we finished, we would go and have some lemonade and crisps in the pub opposite, before walking all the way home to a roast dinner that my mother was getting ready to dish up. Every Sunday, weather permitting, my father, me and my sister would look forward to visiting Manmoel. Despite the length of the walk, it never tired us out. Brings back such lovely memories.
