More about this scene

Described by Leland as 'a great long town', Marazion, close by Penzance, was in the Middle Ages a sizeable settlement of Jews smelting tin. This may account for its older alternative name of Market-Jew. The town was also renowned in Victorian times for its cultivation of a particularly delicious species of turnip.

Marazion celebrated 500 years of being a town in 1995! This shows the parish church for the town.
They demolished the shops on the left cos it was so narrow, then built the bypass! The Silvermine gift shop is there now.
