The Jetty at Margate was to all intents and purposes a pleasure pier.Always known as 'the Jetty' to distinguish it from the pre-existing harbour pier, it was 1,240 ft long.The Jetty was a popular attraction—it is very sad that it was destroyed by a storm in 1978.
