The Krusty Loaf

A Memory of Market Drayton.

My grandfather George Rhodes opened the Krusty Loaf bakery in the High Street in 1969 and ran it to 2003. Market Drayton was a beautiful little town then, it's so sad to see it in the mess it is now!

I worked the bakery in High St for a few months around 1973 while the baker was recovering from a Motor bike accident.
I remember old George with much fondness especially the bread bakery with Poddy keeping warm in winter.
