More about this scene
Little can be gleaned of the appearance of St Peter's church from this picture. It stands at the western end of the high street and is famous for the ordaining of Thomas Wolsey, Chancellor of England under Henry VIII. It has a magnificent 120ft tower. The Sun Hotel on the right is still trading today.
